Little Haven Palliative Care’s Gratitude Walk and Fun Run is on Sunday 18th July, 2021. Registration NOW OPEN!

We experience blessings in tragedy as well as joy. In this spirit, we invite you to join us on our “gratitude walk” honouring our patients and families and offering thanks to a community that supports caring for the terminally ill so they may enjoy the best and longest possible quality end of life.

Whether your pace is slow or aerobic in cadence come along and enjoy the pleasure of movement, the warmth of Gympie’s winter and our beautiful Mary… Reflecting on life’s gifts.

You may choose to affirm your gratitude for the gift of a loved one by placing a heart with a message on the Gratitude Tree.
The Gratitude Walk is an important part of Little Haven Week held annually providing an opportunity for Little Haven to acknowledge to the support this community provides so we can be there when we are needed. Please join us in remembering and giving thanks for all those who have left us with an imprint on our hearts this year.

All events in Little Haven Week raise invaluable funds needed for Little Haven’s work in the coming year.

THE COURSE

5 km course: This course starts at  Nelson Reserve and heads along the beautiful Mary River Walk to The Sands  which is the turnaround point

  • Mostly unpaved with steeper sections and stairs
  • Mostly pram/stroller friendly
  • Suited to walkers, joggers and runners.

1 km course: A shorter course of approx. km is available also along the Mary River Walk with turnaround at the Weir near Kidd Bridge.

  • Mostly paved with grass and gravel sections
  • Undulating

Trophy for highest fundraiser (Child and Adult and Junior Team)

PARTICIPANTS MUST OBEY ALL ROAD RULES WHILE ON THE COURSE

At the completion of your event, stay and enjoy a coffee, sausage sizzle and great live music.

Entertainment

  • Coffee van – All in the Cup 
  • Sausage sizzle- free to participants
  • Face Painting – Party at Your Place (children’s mobile party entertainment)
  • Live Music – Rock and Roll Boys
  • Jumping Castle  – Paradise Jumping Castles

*Child is 18 years or younger, children under 3 years FREE
**Concession includes student card, health care card, Little Haven members and senior concession card holders
*** Family tickets are a base fee, plus an additional $5 per family member

GETTING THERE

Turn right heading north off the Bruce Highway at Toucan Coffee (Monkland Street) in the middle of town to the first roundabout and take the third exit. Parking is on the right near the Sound Shell with additional parking available around Memorial Park and surrounding streets. Also inside  Nelson Reserve.
